So, everyone knows that WoW has a lot to do with skill. Some people, however, have trouble catching on to things themselves, so I'm going to give some pointers on mouse usage.
Your mouse is probably your most important tool in WoW PvP. The most important use it has is turning the camera. Now you may be thinking "wait, but you can just do that with the arrow keys!" Yes, you can, but it's a bad idea. Here's why:
- Slow turning
- Inaccurate strafing
- May give you an impulse to walk backwards in PvP (BAD!)
Those are only a few reasons, of course. What do you do when a sprinting rogue is running around you at 100,000 miles per hour? Are you going to hit your left/right arrow key until you can get a hit off? NO! That's dumb! You'll just die. Instead, hold your right mouse button down as much as possible when you PvP. This causes you to strafe left and right when pressing the arrow keys. If you just need to do a camera turn, move your mouse. You will move much quicker and will be able to see things behind you as you run.
This is particularly useful for hunters. When kiting, instead of backing up (which isn't really kiting to begin with), strafe at an angle that will have you running almost directly away from who you're shooting but keeps you at an angle where you can shoot. You will move away from them much faster and probably could kite anything to its death.
Another handy thing you can do with your mouse is "backjumping". When you think a rogue will gouge you, run towards him (not too close), jump, and spin your camera around 180 degrees so it looks like you just did a long jump backwards. This will avoid his gouge because to gouge you he must attack you from the front.
Okay, those were some examples of good things you can do with your mouse. There is a BAD thing you can do with your mouse, and that's clicking your spells. It distracts you from your surroundings, and it's just plain warrior...err *cough* I mean slow. Map all of your spells to keys (or at the very least, the ones you use the most) to keys you can easily access. This will open up your mouse for use in the things that I explained above. I will talk about keyboard usage in another article.
If anyone else has tips to add, please do. I realize I'm not an amazing writer but I try. Yes, this was written by ME, YAMAKI! Not copied. I hope I informed you well, and good luck!
