Actually this isn't an ideal list at all.

You can't really "prepare" for WoTLK, except by saving gold, and then tradeskill mats.

Gold will obviously still be useful.

We should expect Blizz to obviously raise profession caps.

That means people will need mats when powerleveling their professions, (as a lot of people nowadays have 2 non-gathering professions eg Alchemy/Enchanting or Engineering/Jewelcrafting)

This means - stock up on high end

    Cloths (first aid, tailoring)
    Ores (jewelcrafting, blacksmithing, engineering)
    Skins (leatherworking)
Primals (most profs seem to use primals at some point or another)
    Dusts/Shards (enchanting)

(Plus all the Tradeskill mats made out of the above)

Most professions even at 375 will still have a few yellow recipes which will be very useful in leveling up past 375 in WoTLK - therefore saving you the time and possibly money to gather and start making the new patterns).

I would have to slightly disagree, I mean when BC came out and we saw the "You are not prepared!" trailer... no shit. I don't think anyone expected to pay 5.5k g to ride a bird around.

So these farming places are mainly for gold, not that the increase to the daily quest limit doesn't keep people busy enough since it's atleast 10g a quest + greens for the new rep dailys.

Saving mats for professions though, is kind of hard to tell. I remember there being a thread about the mats to save for the new jewelcrafting profession to powerlevel it once BC came on these forums, and it was completely wrong.

And for most professions, if a pattern is still yellow at 375, it's probably going to cost a fortune to make. Like for me, an enchanter, I remember the mats for a crusade enchant that was yellow at 300 were insane, but the enchants 305-350 were a dime a dozen. Especially 360-375 for enchanters is atleast 40g+ per point. So I think there isn't much planning to be done for the expansion. Just wait until it comes and be prepared with consumables for the xp grind, and gold for the who-knows-what.

As for cloth... I remember netherweave getting leaked from the deadwind pass mobs and selling for 200g per (lol). And now I have 40 stacks of it in my bank. Just be patient, there will be plenty of mats once we actually hit the new content.

So this guide is useful since it shows good farming spots for items that sell quick and high. Only able to prepare with gold IMO.

Edit: After re-reading the quote, you pretty much said the same thing as me lol. So not flaming, /agree'ing.

Is there any lesser known place to farm for primal air? The elemental platue and smv are both farmed quite heavily on my server, so I was just wondring is someone might be able to point me to somewhere you wouldnt think to go.

As far as I know Nagrand and SMV are the only places that air elementals spawn.

@Elemental Plateau for Storming Wind Rippers, go on a hunter, track elemtentals, leave if theres more than 3 already there, if theres not try to keep at least 2 tagged at once, (i.e freeze one, kill one> or freeze one, tag + pet one, and kite one) and make sure to track elementals. You will usually get 3-4 times as many kills as other classes there.
