Rogue PVP(ARENA) Guide

Alright, after a long PVE history I decided to focus on PVP. In the start I was just using the same addons / interface as I was using in PVE! But after a while I was thinking Mm lets change this!
First of all I’m a rogue so it will be mainly focused on rogue!

Talent Built: 20/0/41

First of All You Setup some macros:


The Premeditation Macro for Cheapshot and Garrote: (I always forgot to use it)

/cast [stealth] Premeditation
/stopcasting
/cast [stealth] Cheapshot

/cast [stealth] Premeditation
/stopcasting
/cast [stealth] Garrote



The Sap MacroSo you don’t have to TAP , SAP(1) all the time)

The FOCUS TARGET MacroMost Important!)

/focus target






Alright when you made the macros you have to give them a key! Nevah Evah Use your mouse to cast an attack!!!!!!
I’m gonna tell you my Keys for attacks, its really personal so I don’t tell you to give them the same keys…

Unstealthed Bar 1:

Gouge: 1
Hemo: 2
Evis: 3
Ghostly: 4(some people have a macro to switch ghostly with Hemo, I don’t I just use it when I think its needed for the +Dodge!)
Rupture: 5
Slice and Dice: 7(Don’t use this often, in pvp)
Throw: C
Expose armor: 6





Stealth BAR 1:

Sap: 1(macro)
Cheapshot: 2(macro)
Garrote: 3(macro)
Premeditation: 4(got macro for it so kinda useless:P)


BAR 2/3 Stealth and not stealth:

Shadowstep: Q
Stealth: E
Kidney: R
CoS: F
Sprint: F1
Vanish: `
Kick: Z
Preparation: Shift+F
Trinket: F2
Blind: F3 / Right Click Proximo
Evasion : G
Shiv: Shift+Z (always Cripling on offhand!)
Attackpower trinket/ Healing: Alt+ X
Focus Target Macro: Shift+ Space


Alright After this useless Key Binding talk I will try to explain why I Chosed certain Key Bindings.
Kick/Kidney/Gouge(to prevent a cast) CoS/Evasion(to survive)Thrown(don’t let people escape)
Have to be reached very quickly that’s why I chose a key that’s near my movement keys(asdw).




Oke After I setup my macros and key bindings I install my add-ons, I don’t use a lot of add-ons just ones I think is necessary..

Bartender(v3) , to make my UI less messy
Oke after installing this add-on, /bar lock to move the bars anywhere where you want! And /bar config for other options


Clear font(v2), cause I don’t like original Font…


MagicTrack, this one shows cooldowns on attacks that are important to know like Counter Spell. And when sacrifice is used on a player and how long its still on him.

/script MT_Lock() --- Toggles locking the positions of the grey boxes.
/script MT_Scale(x) --- Resizes the boxes, default scale is 1.
/script MT_Interrupts() --- Toggles the interrupts on and off
/script MT_Shields() --- Toggles the shields on and off





Pitbull, This will change your UI a lot you will get other Target pictures.
/pitbull to get in the menu of it.
Ok here you see what windows you get!!! Like PARTY TARGETS if you see this one in the list it means you will see a window of the player a party member is targeting. To disable any of this windows click on the name and disable it.
To enable it Click extra units and enable all those you want!
Ok now you will also see Focus(Target) don’t disable this window cause its really helpful in the arena!(screenshot)
Earlier we have made a macro /focus target, on the key binding SHIFT+SPACE
After entering the arena you will see your enemies, We always choose a target to kill and a target to control. Click on the one you want to control or keep an eye on(what he casts) and SHIFT+SPACE then switch to the target you are going to Kill.
Now You will have A window of the target u are selecting and a window of the one you set focus on. So if you see him casting a big heal or anything you want to prevent BLIND, KICK, GOUGE him..


Proximo(v2), This Shows you your enemies in the arena so you can easily see their health and target them by clicking in their name there… Also its easy to Blind / Dispel a target.

/prox menu
FrameClick set right click to cast spell BLIND.
If you now right click on your enemies name in the proximo menu he will get blinded!


Quartz, ok quartz is the addon that show you the Big casting bars in your screen. It shows you the one of yourself, your target, your focus target.
/quartz to go into this menu,
Focus
Player
Target
You can unlock to move the casting bars!

Stunwatch, to see your stun duration


SOME ROGUE TRICKS I WANT TO MENTSION:
If humans are using perception and they are really close, and you don’t want to get spotted just vanish in your stealth cause you get improved vanish!!!(yeah I know ..:P)

After you blinded a target and its about to run out, Vanish and Sap him to CC him longer.

If you see a Death Coil/Fear coming vanish to get Immune to it, takes practice and luck.


Shadowstep and Sap for a quick sap.

With improved sap you can sap from outside consecration(flair if not in the middle)

Cloak of shadow(CoS) to resist traps.

very nice + rep btw those tricks r kinda already known to most people but anyways veerynice and about the keybindings instead of shit z for shiv why dont u use g ,t,or v v is my fav personaly and get a addon that tells u the durations of ur CC also to add to that u can also use CoS to overdue a CC instead of vanish since its less of a cooldown

Hemo Macro (incase ur out of energy):

Vanish (helps against the vanish bug):

Kick macro:
/cast [modifier:shift,target=focus] Kick; Kick

Ultimate Sap macro (by far the best):

/cast sap

2nd Sap macro:
/cast [modifier:shift,target=focus] Sap; Sap

yeah alot of it is common knownledge, but wanted to make a complete pvp guide.
i have been playing my rogue for over 100play days now, but just started to use focus targetting with Quartz/Pitbull. It is really helpfull in pvp, and think alot of people(rogues) dont use this yet. Also the right click proximo alot of people dont use yet!! Realy imba for priest dispelling!

I don't think this works or has worked for a long time. Such as, if you vanish when fear is half way through casting, if the warlock decides to hold it, he can still fear you, even though you are vanished. Also, I'm 99% positive this is impossible to do against death coil.

Not sure wht ratings ur rogue is at... but w.e my alt is a rogue which is the 3rd highest rogue/mage 2v2 on the Battlegroup i play on. If you vanish when fear is about to finish, both will cancel (you wont get vanishd or feared). And this works with deathcoil since the game came out.

Sorry but SnD is one of our most powerful attacks in pvp ( specially arena ), the thing that people rarely use is eviscerate, SnD + EA = WIN
