Hey

this is simply a quick idea on how to make the success rate higher for the WotLK phishing scam with the use of the old "gm whisper" trick.

What you need:

1.Phishing email/website for WotLK. (Orignial guide)
2.Email adress and the name of the character.
3.Wow account.

What you do:

1. Log onto the realm where the char you want to scam is.
2. Make a new alt with a nice name, on a scammed account pref.
3. Whisper the victim: [newb]: Hey help me lvl? <--lots of spaces---> [Vaneras]: Greetings traveler, i am happy to inform you that you have been handselected to join the beta testing for the upcoming expansion Wrath of the Lich King.
4. Whisper again: [newb]: hello??<--spaces---> [Vaneras] An email have been sendt to you regarding the matter. May your travels be long and prosperous. PS. This is an automated whisper, do not reply.

NOTE: What this will do is, it will make it look like he got 2 whispers, one from the newb char and one from the GM.
You should Make a macro for each whisper so they come up too fast for him to try and reply...

5. Go send the phishing mail.


This is a trick intended for use on SPECIFIC characters you want to scam.
You can find the email and char name easily by talking to some ppl on trading sites. Just ask if you can see their armory and have their email for further contact.

GM's check logs, and pretending to be a "GM", will pretty much get your account banned. So, the tip I can give you is to make trial accounts for this matter.

Hmm maby scam newbs by that "Hey dude whats your WoW rank>" they ask how then you tell them "go /dnd < acount name> and make sure there is a space between each" or something like that.. you can do that part on a trial... with /s. Just need to make them wisper you.

donogra lols... i made up that scam rofl, i do it with /dnd account name passord = player rating, and by the way, GM's dont look over every single whisper in the game nubs... they wont look at it just at random and see you posted something acting like a gm, i've done this many times before without getting a ban, just dont be stupid and do something in general chat [tried it once, got banned]

Good idea actually, try making a macro and then just doing /target whisper etc etc. Really good idea.

but its a completely different matter if you get reported for somthing, then they will go back and check the logs.

and dont go around calling ppl nubs.. its the easiest way to spot a 14 year old in a forum...

you cant whisper with trial acc.
and yes, posing as a GM will result in quite a quick ban in most cases, but a good way to put all those newb accounts to good use...
