Some of you may know how to do this already, and others may not. I just thought I'd share this with those who don't know.
Basically what this does is it allows to browse anonymously without having to go to a proxy site each time you want to scam.
I'll show you how to set it up on Firefox & Internet Explorer.
Firefox
1. First click Tools
2. Go down to Options
3. Click on Advanced
4. Look under the Network tab
5. Then click on Settings
6. Direct connection to the Internet should be automatically selected. What you're going to do is select Manual proxy configuration. You will see that you are now able to type in the boxes.
7. Now here is a site with a huge list of proxy IPs & ports: Proxy list
8. When you find one, put the IP & port number into the HTTP fields. Click Ok and you're done
Internet Explorer
ATTENTION: Proxies WILL NOT work with a proprietary browser such as the version of Internet Explorer provided by AOL or Juno, the reason being that these browsers have been "stripped down and reduced in their functionality so that even though you can enter the settings, the browser will not configure properly." If you use AOL or Juno, download Firefox and follow the steps for Firefox.
1. First click Tools
2. Go down to Internet Options
3. Click on the Connections tab
4. Click LAN Settings (I assume the majority of the members here use high speed internet so I will not include directions on how to use a manual proxy for Dial-up Internet. However, if someone uses Dial-up and wants to know how, I will edit the directions in)
5. Automatically detect settings box should be checked. Instead, check the box that is under the Proxy server section.
6. Once again, here is the site with the proxy IPs & ports: Proxy list
7. Enter the IP in the Address box, and put the port number in the Port box. Click Ok and you're done
Upon request, I can add screen shots if anyone gets lost/stuck and needs a visual guide. Good luck, & I hope this helps.
