Did a few searches and didn't find anything about GrandCentral here, so I figured it was time to make a post.
For those that don't know, GrandCentral is a free service offered by Google (technically google bought the company) which more or less provides you with a phone number and forwarding. In addition to forwarding you can set up all sorts of nifty things with a GC account.
Note: GrandCentral is in beta still and as such it requires that you put your name in a list and wait for a spot to open up. It took me about 2 weeks or so to get in but it was worth it.
Step 1: Go to GrandCentral: The New Way To Use Your Phones and reserve a number! The real beauty of this is you can reserve your number in any areacode that you want!
Now because you have to wait anyways, I would suggest using a few different gmail accounts and registering a few different numbers. This will get you extra scamming ammo later on! Probably best to use a proxy just incase.
Step 2: Wait... yeah I know it sucks, but it's worth it. It may take a while to get your number. After a few days you'll forget about it and jump for joy when you actually get it.
Step 3: Once you have your number it's time to use it! This is the perfect number for scamming and here's why:
- This number will forward calls to phonenumbers you put into the program, at anytime you can simply turn off your GC number and not have any calls!
- You can setup the number to not forward any calls during specific hours (like when you are sleeping).
- You can setup the number to require people to say who they are before you answer. It goes something like this:
- They call your number, an automated system asks them for their name.
- They give their name, then your phone rings.
- You answer your phone, it says: "John Doe is calling, press 1 to accept, 2 to send to voicemail"
- You can either accept and talk to them, or just send them to voicemail- The voicemail is web based! You can listen to your messages through their site anywhere anytime.
- You can setup friends to come through directly without having to give their name
- Best off all! You can BLOCK numbers straight from the web interface! Just got done scamming somebody? Block their number and never put up with their crap again!
Well I hope this helps somebody, if this is somehow a repost my flamesuit is zipped up and ready to go.

It's kind of US only... mainly all the area codes are going to be US based. I believe you could add a non-US number for the calls to be forwarded to, but international rates may or may not apply.
nice for scamming goldsellers
