The Youtube Scam

Hey all,

This is a very easy scam for those of you struggling to get your hands on your first account.

There are 3 parts to this scam:

 
Preperation
 
Youtube
 
The Blizz Email

STEP 1--------------

First of all, you will need to a simple movie maker, Windows Movie will do.

You need to create a video saying that you are an ex GM. That you had got fired/left blizzard. Then say, that there is a website that will automatically upgrade any account to GM status, but this you can only get onto this if your IP is registered.

Then say, you'll do it for them, and that you just need them to send their account NAME only, make sure they recognise this, as this is extremely importnant. You can use your regular email, unless its something like [email protected].... no, something like [email protected] is fine.

Make a new email at http://mail.com, make it something with blizzard in it, like [email protected] or [email protected]

Make a few fake you tube accounts, with different names ie, mafiaboy_01 and buttercupslily1

STEP 2 ---------------------------

Upload your you tube vid to your real account. Make sure the title is along the lines of How to Become a WoW GM. Put your real email adress in the description.

With your fake You Tube accounts, post on it saying OMG THIS WORKS and stuff, also make sure a few of this say, looks promising, im gonna try this later.

This will make people feel more secure genuinely, now that thats done, just wait a day or two and you should be getting 10-15 emails a day. If people say 'does this work? can i try this on a trial account first? ignore them.

Send a reply to your victims saying your entering into the site now.

STEP 3 --------------------------

Got to http://evilpage.com/index.php?file=c-fakemail and send fake emails.

From: [email protected]

Subject: GM Application - Account Verification.

To: your victim

Body:

 
Greetings!
 
We are delighted to inform you that your GM application has been processed. We will soon verify and upgrade your account, but first must verify that you are the real owner.
 
Please send an email to our GM Application email: your mail.com account
Please make sure the subject is GM Application and that it either contains yes or no.
 
Replying Yes will continue the verification process.
 
We use a none Blizzard emailer to avoid spam and hackers. This is changed weekly so please reply in a timely fashion.

Log onto your mail.com email and wait for your 'Yes' reply, they always do.

When you get it, send a second email.

From: [email protected]

To: victims email

Subject: GM Application

Please verify your account to continue with the last stage of the upgrading proccess.
 
Please fill out the following form below in its template and send it to our Game Master confirmation emailer: 
 
- Account Name
 
- Account Password
 
- Your First Name
 
- Your Second Name
 
- Your Registered Email
 
We use a non blizzard emailer to avoid spam and hackers. This emailer is changed weekly so please reply in a timely fashion.
 
Doing this will verify your account and you may continue onto the last stage.

They will either reply to your real email saying they feel insecure about it, say its blizzard, you can trust them. OR you will get a reply with the account info. Send a third saying

Your account has been suspended due to illegal actions. These actions include illegal Upgrading of ones account. 
Your Account information has been changed due trading, and will be closed ASAP.
 
 
We suggest that you do not let this occur in the future.
