    Hierloom items in WotLK

First to say Hi, this is my first post (as you can see), thanks in advance if anyone can spare a moment to explain this to me:

I've checked the dbcs and found the two ScalingStat databases.
I've 010ed the cache files to see what the items use to reference these tables to see what sort of relationship they have (what items use what to see what scaling stats they have, if that makes sense).

I've ran out of luck though and just cannot see the relationship!

Anyone else had better luck? I feel so close yet so far...

    Update:

Managed to get it working and found the relationships for a lot of the items. Armours were easy but the weapon damage charts are more complex it would seem...

I've not figured out the scalling for propities but sort-of have for level80.

You see Stamina of an item is 7, and if it has a reference of 6666 that equates to 64 (somehow) for it's lvl80 stat. So I can't figure out the scaling of the item but thats not the *most* important thing imo... At least I have a full list of the scaling armours and their stats (much like wowhead).

Still looking for help if anyone is ahead!

This looks interesting, but I dont think I can help you. Keep up the good work. If you can figure out how they scale, you can expect rep from me.

What he is asking is referring to the heirloom item's stat scales. Since they change stats with every level, there must be a formula that is used to determine each stat change or a scale that is used to buff the armor with each level.

I have never understood the formula for them but I can say that if your 80 toon has extra emblems of heroism and does not need any more items from the vendor, buy the heirloom items for your lower level characters. I tend to keep away from dungeons while leveling so these are almost always the best I can find for that toon and the +10% XP rocks. The alternative to the EoH's is the shards vendor's items. Those are OK but not great. If you dont care about the war mammoth or JC recipes, and do not have spare emblems, grab these instead.
