The whole idea comes from PTR update on the item: Relic of Ulduar.

The specific item can be turned in stacks of 10 and increases the Sons of Hodir faction reputation by 250.

Due to the valuable rewards that you can acquire from “The Sons of Hodir faction” plus the difficulty it has currently to be raised, the value of these relics are going to hit the sky. According to my WoW economics experience they will be sold for 10g per piece after the patch comes live and at least for 1 week duration. After the first week it will start dropping its price to 5g per piece or even lower.

The ideal thing would be to farm them while farming Crystalized fire which sells for 5g / piece minimum.

The mobs that satisfy both of those criteria are the Seething Revenants which drop 40% relics and 30% 1.5 Crystalized fire. The specific mobs have very high respawn time which makes them ideal to farm even when there are other people farming them too.

Assuming that you can kill 3 mobs/minute (which is quite easy) its translated to 180 mobs / hour. With the specific drop rates its 1125 Gold / hour.

180 mobs * 0.4 = 72 relics, 72 relics * 10 gold = 720 gold

180 mobs * 0.3 * 1.5 = 81 Crystalized fire , 81 Crystalized fire * 5 gold = 405 gold

dude u cant rly say * 0.4. There is a 40% chance it will drop but that is not so accurate. If a mob has 1% chance to drop an epic. You dont have to kill the mob 100 times to get it. You might have to kill it endless of times until it drops. it is all about being lucky. So its like.. alotalotalot less gold. maybe 650 or 700g.

I think you have some problems with your logic here mate.

If you roll a dice 6 times ofc it is not 100% guarantee that you will get at least 1 time 6 BUT it you roll the dice 1000 times it is guarantee that (1/6) * 100 percent (16.66%) will be 6 otherwise the dice is malfunctioned.

We used to learn those things in school.

Yes they are trade able after the next patch. Also you should hurry get a Iron Boot Flask because it's price will be 250 of them from 10 as it is now.

By the time 3.0.8 hits they won't be worth 10g a pop. More like ~1g maybe. There will be so many of these flooding the AH because they are easy as sin to get. And there is no reason why your main shouldn't be exalted with Hodir before that patch.

Also I hate I vendored all of mine I could have saved them for an alt.

And there is no reason why your main shouldn't be exalted with Hodir before that patch.

I strongly disagree. I am almost sure that it's price will start on these and I have valid reasons to believe in that.

My arguments:

1) Sons of Hodir faction gives 2 mamoths (1 on reverted and 1 on exalted). They have some of the best shoulder enchants for many classed and need exalted for that.

2) The only way to raise reputation with them is by doing daily quests which take very long time and many people (like me) cba to do them all the time.

3) The ones that have stock up the relics and not trashed them (I don't think that they will be too many) will use them to raise their own reputation instead of selling them.

4) I agreed that after the first week of release it's value will start drop dramatically due to the ease of getting them from mobs BUT the first week they will cost like like gold.

i think 5g each imo, 10g seems a bit high thats 100g for 250 rep. Basically it would be near 10k gold from rev to exalted
