    Daggers?

Rogues choose either maces, swords, or daggers....if you choose maces and spec them you get to stun on occassion...if you choose swords you get a double hit that counts as a normal strike...and if you go daggers you get....nothing. is it jsut me or do other rogues feel that rogues and daggers should be the perfect match and not maces? shouldn't daggers get some bonus on them? I know its pretty nub but can someone explain to me why daggers don't get any special bonuses?

Well daggers are not exactly meant for a combat build But even if you decide to go daggers and combat spec you get +5% critical from the dagger specific talent.

Also with daggers you have Ambush and Backstab at your disposal.

Daggers are dead because they focus on crit. On high resilience targets, you lose about 20% or more damage on your crits. So you should go for mace or swords, which is steady damage and more control. Mutilate is the only daggers spec worth mentioning for pvp, as the combo point build up makes up for the resilience factor.

As far as pve goes, well combat swords is superior in every way. Combat daggers.. nice begging level, like kara. But 60 energy for one combo point is a realllly bad trade off

Simply, the best thing to do is go SWORDS for PvE, nothing can beat their damage.

For PvP, maces all the way, stuns = win.

Yes there are pros and cons of both, but they are the best hands down.

Nah, daggers fail period. Resil killed burst from daggers, thus killing daggers.

Well there is many different ways of playing your rogue.

So to start off, I personally love mace/fist weapons souly on the fact that it is core in a Combat or Subtlety spec's. I find them to be more effected in my style of play, I tend to go face to face balls out (like a fury warrior). Daggers, you tend to stick to more conservative play, you come out, attack, then regroup, then get ready for the next attack. If you do daggers I don't suggested play any other spec but mutilate. Once again I see weapons as your way of how you should spec. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should go with the norm, but play the specs that you find more effectively.

I cant stress this anymore then I already have, weapons should be the way you base your spec. But you also need to learn how you want to play. Rogues are versatile when it comes to these things. You can be like a warrior, or be your native-self and be unseen in the shadows. The point is I'm trying to make is don't listen to people telling you what you should and should not get. Play the game, tests out all the weapons you can get your hands on and play around. You will find something you like.
