40 mans

40-man raids are just overrated, most of the time 50% of the people would do all the work, and the other 50% would just slack around and get the shinies for no work at all.
Furthermore, they we're close to impossible to administer. Keeping an eye out for every single member in a 25 man raid can be hard, imagine if you we're to drop an additional 15 noobs in there too.

40 mans was fun but very slow, 1 item/week and you were happy tho when you had full epic you really had worked for it.

well my guild was clearing mc on 2 runs (2 x 40) bwl on 1 aq on 1 and some wings of naxx on 1 so where was the problem ? i remember 7 teams for kara after tbc started so ekhm... anyway epic item meaned sth in these days now epic = bagde or heroic...

It's hard and takes a long time to assemble 25... I can't even imagine what it was to get 40 people do what is required of them

40 mans were a terrible idea but just think about everquest didnt they have like 100 man raids?

40 mans was good it was epic back in those days getting 40 ppl though was tough because everyone wanted in on mc runs and 40 man onyxia was the best her deep breath was way nastier back then compared too 25 mans

25 man instances changed WoW for the better. 40 man raiding required a very big raiding core which almost made it impossible to start a new guild on your server, or even to have more than two per side on a normally populated realm. Also it was quite hard to manage since leechers weren't exposed as well as now.
