Is there some trick to not having your corpse disappear?

I've decided to quit WoW for good and I wanted to die somewhere cool and log out so that my dead body would stay there forever (or until it was removed, whatever). My account expires today but no matter what I try I can't seem to do it. I'm an alliance character so I got into Orgrimmar and died on Thrall's throne. I logged out before the release timer was up but as soon as I logged out my body disappeared. I've also tried force quitting the game as soon as I die but my body disappears immediately, even though I have not logged back into my account since. I've seen tons of people do this in IF and SW so does anyone know the trick?
