Blizz renamed banned characters?

I was looking through my list of characters on the forums, and blizz renamed one of my characters "DONOTRESTO"

I wonder what the purpose of doing that in a character name instead of an account note is. Any ideas?

Name was possibly given to someone else who wanted it, since you can ask for old unused names to be freed up by GMs. Note may have been added to say not to give the name back to that toon.

These days though GMs won't free up names as it is done by an automated system, I've tried in several tickets and they always tell me to wait until the system clears the name. Makes me think the name may have been offensive somehow?

I'm racking my mind to remember what its name was, but I don't name my characters offensive stuff.
