WOW ingame chat - the \nul string behavior
I just noticed by accident when trying to type in guild chat \dev\nul, that only \dev showed up. Then i thought "ok, probably its just end of string sign".
I tried in guild chat:
Result:
So obviously yes, simple NULL at end of string interpreted from user given string.
But when you type in only:
Result:
Notice there is no doubledot separating your nick from string you entered (which is just null, not even empty one .
Try it yourself. It's working in guild, general chats etc, but not in /say.
Never heard of it before, I think its useless, but maybe someone will try to find some new interesting strings like this one, or do something with this one. ATM you can use it as "super silent mode" in conversation, just showing you are participating in conversation, being silent but visible to others and amaze your mates
PS. I'm using PRAT for chat, but i guess its working on native wow chat too.
PS2. If its repost, I am really sorry for that, didnt found anything like that by searching.
