How is it possible to have a lowercase first letter in your character name?

get "wpe pro", a packet sniffer
record wow's packets (information sent to the server)
when you send the name "Cool", filter capital C to lowercase c and try making the name again.

I found this info which may answer your question on another thread.
The trick is rather simple, if you create a character starting with the letter ÿ (the button left to enter, right under backspace, then y), it will stay lower case as your char is made too, since the y letter can't have the two dots over if it's in upper case.

This lets you create a really fancy right, I've had many people ingame wonder how I got it lower case, so hopefully some of you will enjoy knowing it too.

PS. You're keyboard might have another combination then mine to make the ÿ, this is the way to make it on a Norwegian keyboard, just copy / paste if you can't make it.

You can actually message a GM and request a name with the lowercase norweigan characters and so on so forth, did it once. Looks nooby after a while, though...
