Question about the search function

Hello,

Does anyone know how the search function on this forum work? As in what makes some topics come as a top result and some are found on page 5.
Lets take an example of 2 topics made the same day, and have last post in them at about same time. They are both tagged with the same word. But if I do a search for a tagged word first topic will appear as a top result and other one will be few pages back. What makes the difference? Is this something connected with corecoins or status (donator, ID verified etc) of a thread starter?

I'll appreciate any feedback on this matter
