The best way to think about it is if you haven't been there yet the bot wont try to go there without you (to keep you from ripping off the side of a cliff)

Here is how I map and I never ever have mapping issues

Here We GO

1.) Throw yourselves to the wolves (die) were u want to grind. This starts you at the grave yard YAY now if we die again it knows were we go. Run around a bit in the GY. Run a few different ways to different sections of your area you want to grind. look maa I'm dead so mobs wont mess with me YAY. This makes it so you don't follow the same path back to your area every time speeds things up trust.

2.) Run to your body now that your back at your spot goto the far end of the area you want to grind find a landmark or reference point start there now strafe left or right (based on were u start) then step forward once and strafe back rinse repeat. this will make a solid "map" of the area in which you (errr IT) will be running around slaughtering mobs at will. once you are satisfied with your mapped area slap yourself and map some more your never done mapping fool.

3.) Once you have the entire area of the mobs you want dead mapped out go ahead and grab your body.

4.) Now that your alive and can see all the mobs name the location and find yourself some Hotspots (places were a few mobs are grouped within your Routines set pull range) at least 2 but common lets not scream "HEY I'M A BOT THAT ONLY MOVES BETWEEN THESE TWO SPOTS AND KILLS JUST THESE MOBS I'M SO COOL YAY" make sure once you are satisfied with your Hotspots to set it as active.

5.) Run back to your vendor/repair (town city what have you) make sure you get close enough that it auto adds the vendor.

now here is the part that some ppl mess up at.

6.) run in random directions (but don't go crazy because if you do it will never follow that path) from the merchant to your grind spot you don't want to go the exact same way every time. The bot will figure out which way is fastest. again we don't want to scream "HEY I'M A ****ING AMAZING BOT, BUT STILL A BOT"

this is not mandatory but its how i like to start

7.) Run back to the vendor and hit the big GO button. and let IT rip you will notice the bot starts moving down one of your paths from the merchant to your grinding area. this ensures that u know it will be able to get to the vendor and back.

8.) Go watch TV.
