I transfered someones character..to a new account..

Is there any way possible for them to get it back, if they have NO details atall about the new account?

I transfered the character yesterday, over to my account, im going to give it back to them now, but it'll have no character on it so when they find out is it possible for them to phone up and get it back?

Not too sure about this to be honest.

But i would expect that if you 'stole' his character then blizz may take if back off you.

They wont take it back I believe. However they might close the account as it is a character transfer history thats visible for the player on the ikd account and blizzard

your account could be banned. but if they are dumb ****s they would suspect a deletion, and ask for a recall, then have to rename theirs. or yours.

Well now ive restored all the information on the original account, so hopefully they're gonna think hes bullshitting or something, when he phones up and says "my account got hacked" bla bla it will be on his email.

That is exactly the right answer.
And do it BEFORE they get the account back.

What would have been even better... is if you had changed servers on the character you stole, and moved it to a server that ALREADY had that character name on it (even if it was on a trial account you set up specific for the purpose!)...

The end effect would have been this:
Their account would be banned for hacking, and they would be unable to even log in for GM support. There is no phone number to call for banned accounts. And since the toon had a different name and server the original owner could not even track it down in the armory. It would be a character that vanished as if deleted.

Yes they can get it back. Even if you do get it banned, there is a somewhat high chance that can be undone too.
