    If you switch name with battle net merge, how long will the old name be stored?

    As the topic says, my question is:

    If you switch orginal owner name with battle net merge, how long will the old name be stored?

    As once I swapped name and paged GM the day after and he said that he could see the name change, altho he didnt mind it, as long as i reminded my friend that i did it..

    But today, a guy i traded with in TBC said he might take the account back. It's long time ago since i merged it with Battle Net and switched the names, so i wonder if blizzard still can track it? If the old name will stick with the name forever or if it get deleted after some days? Any of you KNOW it or have any EXPERIENCE with it?

    Best of regards,
    SoliuZ

    It stores the Original account forever, at least for now. But you can get the account back with either name (BNet, or Original). As far as I know they won't un-merge accounts anymore so you're pretty much screwed unless you call it back and send in ID showing that you are OO (Of the first account, the name on CREATION) everything else won't work, if he calls he can take the authenticator off. So you may get in a call "war" until they lock the account and require you to send in ID from whoever originally registered the WoW account, not the battle.net name.

    So if he is the REAL OO then you are pretty screwed, if he sends his ID in (if hes over 1 they won't do any more changes over the phone.

    I believe so. They will probably transfer the character back, but hel need to prove that he is who he says he is, and that hes over 18, if hes under 18 ide say you have a pretty good chance of keeping it depending on how bad he wants it back. Ide say you probably have a good chance of keeping it if you xfer it, and if he gets it locked to where you have to send in your ID and he isn't the OO, he will be screwed out of the character and it shouldn't effect the char you transferred. I HATE people that decide they want it back one day, I got screwed out of an 80 druid and 80 mage well geared, and he wasn't even the OO. What a waste of time lol, if I would have xfered them to my account (original account was under some other name, and BNet under mine) to an account that was originally mine I would have still had them. ;-;
