Spell damage add reduction?

If you add spell damage with something like staff of jordan is that damge reduced for instant casts becasue when i pom fireball it still only does 500-600 damage. (i am aloud to ask things taht arnt about bots and exploits right ?)

Course you can, and the staff should still have its +damage added onto it.
