How Do I Stop The Lag ?

Graphics card, or RAM my guesses would be... Just to be safe.. Upgrade both.

If you have a poor graphics card make everything in video options in game really poor and its recommended you have at least 512kb of ram for wow.

I used to have only 256kb of ram (minimum reqiurements) and I had the same problem as you whenever I entered BG's or a city/major town I would constantly lag non stop, so its most likely your ram you have to upgrade.

try playing in a window mode, if it still lagged then just get a higher card or make sure free a lot of space in your drive. anyway, sometime the server just can't handle alot of people playing at the same time

cut down on un-needed processes (ctrl+alt+del > processes)
make your OS take up less space (tutorial on this in general)
Overclock your CPU (dont do this if your a techno-noob :P)
dont run wow on max settings (options > video)

HOw much RAm your computer got? mines only at 256mb and its Major Lag....
