What is this (exploit maybe) ?

Today i(rogue, horde) met a strange behaving alliance rogue in wsg(lvl 20-29). He jumped around in weird patterns and got healed by a priest and was quite successful at killing. So i took a look at the combat log. He had a fire enchanted weapon, which showed up in the log

AND

after every melee hit i saw a line like "xy tries to shoot yz". He also did hit a few times with that shooting. He had this in a makro to shoot with every melee attack or something else weird.

Melee is 0-5 yards and shoot/throw is 8+ yards and i didnt see any ranged weapon in his hands(combat animation).

Can someone explain me, what was going on ?
