Arathi Highlands Warfront Escape: Wasted Space
Hey Explorers!
I was doing Warfronts today and got extremely bored, and decided to explore the outskirts of the Warfront. This instance isn't quite like a normal instance. For some reason, you zone into the normal Eastern Kingdom zones and are able to use the map in each zone.
Some things ive noticed:
- The entire map of Eastern Kingdoms is present.
- Going into any sort of water will disconnect you.
- Going into Undercity will also disconnect you (as seen at the end of the video)
- FLYING IS POSSIBLE AT RAVENHOLDT MANOR! Found by bezerker08
- Once you are able to fly, you can dismount and mount at any time and still be flying, as long as you aren't near Arathi Highlands.
As to why the entire map of Eastern Kingdoms was copy and pasted into this instance, I am unsure. This probably has some interesting side effects if you can find them, though I am just an explorer so I haven't had a chance to check out everything. Here is the video, hope you enjoy!

I haven't been able to figure out anything to do with this but I must say not having to worry about getting kicked has been rather nice.

BTW you can:
go to the corner near the wall
find the tiny high point
jump to the wall
walk to the lowest point of the crack
you're out

Awesome! Much easier for all classes to get out. Not sure what blizzard is thinking, usually they add invisible walls all around walls like that.
If you want to afk the battle, that's a good place to just sit as well. When you're in that corner it bumps you off the map.

Oh my no way?! Can you fly outside ravenholdt when you mount there? This was exactly what I was looking for, a place to be able to fly!

This is huge! Shame I'm at work for another 7 hours....
When you get a chance could you see if you can fly back into Arathi and attack the commander guy at the end?

It's super buggy at Ravenholdt Manor. Once you find the path and go up the hill, there's a transition cave. Sometimes it'll lag at the start of the cave and the whole area becomes lighter in color. If this happens, you can go north and mount and fly. Unfortunately, if you get close to Arathi Highlands, the whole area becomes darker/more red in color and you cannot fly.
You definitely can't fly into the castle, from what I know now. Also, the red version has a bugged floor in the manor that you can fall through?

Hmm interesting. I'll have to test out a few theories I have when I get home. I just noticed in general this instance is buggy haha.

kara crypt is open but it DCs you and puts you on ally leader inside castle. Maybe if you soulstone you could do something? XD

That's odd, sounds like a similar issue to the Undercity DC I ran into. Maybe it has to do with Z positioning downward. I'm just curious as to what happens if you attack the Alliance leader or get a group in there and kill him first.
I also tried going into Uldaman and the portal doesn't work.

It's totally normal if you get disconnected in water and if portals dosen't works
This is the new instanced technology from WOD Garrison, and we can see this inside a lots of scenarios and dungeons from Legion and now BFA
So I will explain what is going on with this map
As you can see on my screen :
At the left part there are no herbs and no water, so this is the instanced map where we are
But at the right, there are water and herbs
We can see clearly the delimitation and this is the location where is located the endgame wall on this map
So the new technology is basically a model editing / model swapping in real time made by Blizzard, the entire eastern kingdom map is a fake map that is swapped behind the endgame wall to replace all the void space
That's why we can see the delimitation and that's why we are disconnected in water exactly like when we use a map model swapping

Very interesting! I had just got back into wow towards the end of legion so I didn't even know this was a thing. I thought that part of Hillsbrad looked odd, but it makes sense. Thanks for the information!
