[Discussion] Your favorite WoW exploration movie

There have been a lot of EPIC exploration movies created in the World of Warcraft.
From the early days of DopeFish to current movies released by RIdPEF... these longer films have served as inspiration for all of us explorers at one time or another.

What is one of your favorite WoW exploration movies? What makes it so special to you?
Provide links if you can. Looking to spark some more discussion / interest in this forum!

I'll start by linking one of the films that started it all... Nogg-Aholic The Movie... first posted in 2005!

I think The Beyond the Portals Expedition by this awesome guy called Strangletusk has gotta be my favourite. Cracking series. He's a top lad, that Strangletusk.

All joking aside, besides the obvious ones like Nogg-aholic, I really enjoyed Khamul40's A Warlock's Journey and A Paladin's Journey, with the former slightly edging it for me.

In general though, while I can appreciate the explorations in such movies I'm not a huge fan of a lot of them - too many come across as overly pretentious and take themselves far too seriously.

This was my first real exposure to exploration, it started it all and basically triggered the spark that lead me to all these wonderful places, other videos and this amazing community. Forever an inspiration!

For me it was definitely nogg-aholic, it was the first non-pvp WoW movie I watched at the time. It definitely just had the right combination of music and showcased some pretty cool areas.

It eventually led me to their website, I was clearing out an old e-mail a few weeks ago and found all my submissions and everything from their forums, If anyone else remembers their forums were broken up into public sections that had very little information, and then tiers of progressively harder challenges that you could attempt to gain access to the good information (at the time) in the higher forums.

I remember a few of the challenges, raising the water, create a custom spell, something like change everyone/thing to murlocs. The problem was that the vast majority of everything at the time was done through model editing, so once you reached the advanced forums it was just advanced edits and DBC modifications....nothing that big really.

There's nothing inherently wrong with longer videos that showcase methods, but I agree that many of them can come off as holier-than-thou.
To be clear, I created this thread with the more "cinematic" films in mind. I'm more curious about those epic videos that are more focused on the entertainment value and the area (rather than the method).

The ones mentioned ITT so far (Nogg, Wanderings, Warlock's Journey) are exactly what I mean.
I imagine that many newer explorers will read this thread and watch these amazing movies for the first time.
Any others in this vein that inspired you? Please share!

Well, the first exploration movie that I watched was not Nogg-Aholic the Movie, but Dark Side of WotLK ( Dark Side of WotLK By Zhao - World of Warcraft Movies ), which I found awesome, and then the unforgettable Point of View ( Point of View - The movie By Zhao - World of Warcraft Movies ), these two really inspired me.

So post some that haven't been mentioned ITT yet...share!

"Point of View" was mentioned above. I had never seen that one! Really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing, Spoutnik.
This is hopefully the purpose of the thread. Share those amazing, full length, cinematic WoW exploration movies that inspired you.
We all can enjoy the ones we may not have seen... and wax nostalgic about ones we haven't seen in a long while!

Oh :]] I'm really glad you enjoy it :')

I found this a couple of months ago, originally released in 2005 on WCM. Really liked it:

    Nogg-aholic the movie and this:

Every time I hear the songs used in those videos, I get insane chills.
These movies encouraged me to start exploring and man, did I have the time of my life doing it!

    @Indistinct
WTF - dev/progr isles ? was it lvie or priv ?

andas always - nogg, he was first who showed up exploration on that mass scale...
damn it would be fun to have all patches to disposal on live realms - for instance if you'd like to check naxx40 then go on realm with patch 1.11 etc - would be fun with all that knowledge "how to" which we do have now to explore those things now =)

Indistinct did not show dev/progr isles in his videos.
If you mean any of the RIdPEF videos (like the Wanderings of an Essplorer that Indistinct posted), they were done on live servers using advanced model editing techniques.

I started exploring because of the the movie, Xel has posted.

I tried to walljumped and glitched to reach every possible spot
    i saw on the video.

I had a great time, and today we have so many "tools" to reach
    more and more unknown areas.

Btw, where was that crypt in the Nogg-aholic the movie at 7:43.
I'm not sure but i think i saw it once.
