Thats been there for a while if I can recall, Northrend was the same way, it was on the small map, but not on the big map. This will probably be an upcoming raid / content patch similar to the bloodelf island with the dailys

It's from the unzoomed map of Azeroth and Outlands. Pretty interesting...Although there are plenty of other little islands that are undiscovered.

It would make sense, seeing as how Sargeras was banished into the maelstrom, at least part of him anyway. Either one half or one third of him lays in the maelstrom, I believe that is debatable seeing how there was an aspect of him, an illusion of sorts of him (I believe?) and himself, in the maelstrom. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But according to my information, The next expansion pack for WoW will either be Mealstrom or Emerald dream?

If its Mealstrom i would gues that those islands will be added

It's actually Sunken Isles, I believe. Home to the Tomb of Sargaeras, and a lot of Naga for that matter.
