Fast "Defend [insert zone]" Calling

I was just browsing the first couple of pages here to see if this exploit was a thing and it seems not. But when you get a calling where you have to defend a given zone aka the progress bar, you can go to any chest and open it without looting it. Repeat this 5 times and you are done with that calling.

Edit:
It is onlt for callings, not the thread of fate quests.
So far for me it has worked on all the treasures I have found, but there might be some cases of it not working.

The usual Chests that you see through Handynotes: Shadowlands or the Zone Specific Randoms spawns (3-4 Chests) I believe? Which one of those do you mean.

Also is this meant for leveling or for the Sanctum Quests?

I so hope this works. Presuming I have a defend quest I will try this when I get home and will report back. I am trying to be lazy and leave the mythic dungeon for that zone not done until a defend quest comes up for there.

I've found that on an alt you're levelling with Threads of Fate, the chests don't even spawn.

Yeah, seems the chest gets sent straight to your mail after first use. Shame but good while it lasted.

Not sure about that. I've found most chests in Bastion are ones that disappear after one open, but Maldraxxus, Revendreth and Ardenweald most of them work well.
