How to access wow console...

Pretty simple... Just follow these 11 steps.


1. Navigate to your World of Warcraft main directory, (most likely C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft)

2. Find WoW.exe

3. Create a shortcut on your desktop pointing to your WoW.exe

4. Right click on your shortcut.

5. Click proporties

6. Find the section labed Target

7. Change target from "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe" to
"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe" -console

NOTE: Please leave in the " surrounding the directory and make a space then -console. and hit apply, then ok.

8. Open World of Warcraft

9. Press the ` key

10. Press help for a bunch of differnt commands.

11.(Optional) to make the console easier to view, type fontsize 9 and consolelines 100

There, Got it? I just found out this myself, and i searched on forums, Didnt see it posted before.

Not exactly sure, im trying to find out also. I found a way to turn ingame shadows off through, the ones from your charecter and other people.

I found out if you type help debug, there is actually a option for port and worldport, im guessing like a teleport thing, But when i try to type a destination (<continentid> [x y z]) It says "You are not able to do this" or something amoung those lines.

Also, if anyone would like to test something out for me, Make a gm charector on a private server, Do the console thing, And type help gm and tell me what you see.

You can do this with pritty much every game. I thought most people knew about it :P

Not exactly sure, Like i said, im still trying to find out what i can/cannot do with this... But, There is a whole GM section of stuff in the console, But it doesnt display for us since no one is a GM in live wow. If someone could make a GM on a private server and do this console thing, Type help GM, And show us what you see, Ill be grateful ^.^ Or type whois, Im curious about that also.

hmm, could OP or someone else post complete list that cvarlist command gives you? (in .jpg or just plain text) I cant seem to get consoleline 100 (or any other number) to worrk so it's damn hard to see any of the possible cvars

Just began looking around but the first thing that comes to mind for me is a way to disable distance fog this would be very helpful in many situations

Ok, i got on my private server, and got this after typing "help gm"

Commands registered for category gm:
NONE

[ZOMG]

I can set gamespeed to 1 and 2, but don't notice a difference.

I tried worldport 1 and worldport 2, but it says I don't have the privelidge to do it.

When my weapon skill goes up, it says

Skill 44 increased from 4 to 12.

I typed skill 44 100, and it now says skill 44 100.......wtf.
