[Retail] 1-60 XP Grind Spot - Critters Giving 100% Normal Mob XP
FIXED; Blizzard reduced xp gained from killing them.
Hello, I'm sure you're curious about the title.
I discovered last night, that a certain critter mob in Dun Morogh is giving the same xp as a normal mob in that level range.
The mob you will be killing is called Tame Crag Boar and can be found in Dun Morogh, Shimmer Ridge. They have a low amount of health, and die within a few ticks, PLUS, they are in a huge pack and hyperspawn aswell. It took around 7 minutes to reach each level on my priest who started at 47, but earlier levels will level much faster.
If you would like to see it in action, you can see the timelapse here: 1-60 XP Grinding - A Level every 1-10 Minutes - World of Warcraft Retail - YouTube
Thanks for the read.

Did 35-45 here. Averaged about 5-6 minutes per level as a Guardian Druid.
- I started with Balance but the critters actually do more damage than expected. I had an easier time zoning out as Guardian instead.
- The mobs seem to evade pretty easily, however swipe spam and constant movement was working well to avoid them leashing
Was a nice break from some the dungeon spam, but definitely a little dreadful after a bit. Curious to know if the exp scales down too poorly with another player or in a full group even. This might be top tier with a brewmaster statue and a keyspammer for some simple aoe.
Thanks for sharing. +Rep

Yes XP scales down when there are more than 1 tagging the mobs.

Anybody knows a good macro for this? /target is targeting the same mob until it dies

Just tested. One kill gives 1% of the level while rested. 274 XP unrested at 24-26.
Cant say this is so overpowered to justify a nerf. Its not like this can be used by many people at the same time. If you see someone doing it, dont bother trying to steal their mobs. It will only hurt both of you. Just head back to the nearest inn and try another time.
Blizzard, if you are reading this, give us more of this, not less please.

Sure just make it like this =>
/target MOBNAME
/use UR SPELL
/cleartarget

People have known these gave XP and hyper spawned since patch 4.0. you can see in the comments on the wowhead OP linked. I doubt they'll remove the XP.
I'm wondering if anything like this exists for 60-100.

You can farm the same spot with level sync, but i highly advise doing korrak's revenge in the 80-120 bracket while you can

Yeah, I'm aware of Korraks, I've been leveling all of my 110s, but gets boring (Especially on a 60-100)

Any idea on how to also make it target the Frostmane mobs? sometimes they get aggro's and the macro doesn't work. it constantly clears target. I've tried adding them but it's either one mob or the other. Even when taking out the /cleartarget macro it will never target the regular mobs.
Is there a target sequence string? adding a comma didn't work. Can't seem to figure it out to add them to the list of mobs to kill/target. Thanks

Fixed after 8.3 release, managed to bot about 4 chars all the way to 110 with party sync in this area, will be missed.
