UB chest farming WITHOUT engineering

Nice, I've never thought of that. +Rep I got around 500 gold for 3 hours of farming, not great drops for me, but my server's AH is insane.

All in all, after about 20 runs, AH'ing the good gems and vendoring the trash greens, I got about 400 gold. Not bad for about 3 hours work.

agreed, it really shouldnt take you a full hour to do this five times, so u cant really count it as work.

being alliance, ive worked up quite the supply of these candles just by farming them between AV queues during the honor weekend. beats running around the battlemasters or dueling outside the city gates.

Nice addition to the original UB strat. Too bad it's not really worth it for somebody who can't pick chests.

i have an addition to this to increase your profits even more. i am a combat specced decently geared rogue and i am able to dps the mobs down for both chests in regular UB by using the water trick. this was all fine and good but wasnt as profitable as i had hoped. then i had stumbled upon a goldmine that i had a monopoly on, on my server. sanguine hibiscus. they are all over the place and can easily be looted while making your rounds without aggroing anything. on my server the most you will see is a 5 stack of them and they are selling for 1.28g each. it doesnt take long at all to farm stacks of more than 100 for easy easy gold, and the important thing is they sell. they are used for rep to get some alchemy things. so between farming the 2 chests and the herbs i was able to get a darkmoon deck and have an epic sword crafted, as well as getting a mongoose enchant on it in 4 days. and that was with only dedicating a couple hours a day to farming.

Well I suppose you could do a reg UB run at maybe 65-66ish (if I remember right, regular UB mobs are about 63 or so), if specc'd subtlety. But you couldn't do heroic until 70.

the problem with that is that in regular UB the chest isnt always guaranteed to be there like it is in heroic(it's also fel iron and not adamantite and thus less profitable)...but yeah, theres no reason you couldnt start doing this before level 70...i just dont know if it would be worth it.

If you could enter the instance at level 45, which you can't because i'm guessing the minimum level requirement for UB to be about 60, you'd probably agro every mob in the instance just stepping through the portal :P

Even if you didn't however, you'd never be able to stealth past level 60+ in normal UB and level 70 mobs in heroic mode. In short, no you cannot do this as a level 45 rogue. You'd need to be at least level 63 to be able to do it on normal mode, maybe, MAYBE doable at 60 even, but I doubt it because you'd most likely not be able to stealth past most mobs without being detected and killed.

Thats not true, maybe it was so earlier, but not the last month atleast.
The first chest is always there in regular UB, 2nd chest under stairs have a 50/50 it seems. I've never seen a Fel Iron Ore inside UB, usually Adamantite Ore, sometimes a Rich one.

Even just getting the first chest, grabbin ore if avail and any hibiscus on the way gives me a minimum of 25g each run. Best run sofar is 120g. Bluie + a Living Ruby helped alot

Ah, then i'm sorry, my bad. Have no stats on that, but last 12 chests was indeed Fel Iron of some kind.


Off to get 70 and heroic i guess
