Basically in Karazhan if your tank died and a "Spectral Stable Hand" Spectral Stable Hand - NPCs - World of Warcraft started to kill your pet he would heal your pet with healing touch for around 5k or so making your pet perfect to tank him.

So when he's attacking your pet, he's trying to kill it, not heal... ?? wtf.? :?

Those NPC's normally heal the horses you fight on your way to Attumen.
It seems like they also heal your pets, like the OP stated. (Didn't test ist)
