Fighter Chow works in combat
Fighter Chow is a food buff that gives you HP every 5 seconds. It was changed a bit in the prepatch and although it say that it only works while not in combat, I can assure you it does.
I don't know many uses for this, but for Warlocks running old content with Burning Rush, it's very nice, especially if you take off your gear so Burning rush does less damage.
----
Can't replicate further, see below. Closing.
I somehow bugged out my Fight Chow buff, but I cannot find a way to do it again. To give a summary in case someone tries this on their own:
"I was doing EP quests on my 110 Warlock. If you take off your gear as a Warlock and use burning rush, the chow will outheal it now. Eventually I did Stratholme for some AD rep. After quite a few runs, I noticed that I was keeping my health regen from chow during combat.
After re-applying the food buff through bacon, it stayed. After clicking it off and getting a new food buff, I can't replicate it."
Good luck everyone.

Not working for me. Is your character a Troll? Their racial could be causing it.

Human Warlock. As you can see in the image, the healing buff is still working mid-combat. I'll do a bit more testing considering you're not reaching the same results. Will try to pintpoint it to determine if it's intentional or not.
Test 1: Tried on Legion Mobs on my Night Elf Druid, did not work.
Test 2: Tried on Forest Creeper (level 61) on my Night Elf Druid, did not work.
Test 3: Tried in Stratholme on my Night Elf Druid, did not work.
Have a potential theory, testing it.

Combat doesn't seem to be combat when a mob significantly below your own level engages you. It may be swinging and even connecting but there seems to be some sort of minimum damage it has to cause before you get put "in combat" in the sense we usually refer to. This has caught me out multiple times.

My Druid is 110 and it didn't work against a 61. Furthermore, after logging back onto my Warlock, it worked until I tried to re-apply the buff. Now it's not.
Currently testing something that may cause it, though.
Edit: So I figured out what happened, to a degree, but I am unsure of how to trigger it.
From the original screenshot, you can see that it was healing me for 1943. The thing is, in the armor that I was wearing, it's normally supposed to heal for 1895. What this means is that it bugged out and still thought I was wearing my better gear, which probably caused it to not detect combat.
Trying to determine how to replicate this, if not, I'll close this soon.
