Hate to dig up old threads... but this is an unproven matter which is still working in some way and we can replicate it; we may have a very powerful tool, not for long knowing Blizzard but all good things must come to an end. Anyhow, eariler today I seen the very same thing in Karazhan.. wow eu servers; a mage with the preperation buff, I asked him about his methods and kept a still toungue, I will try to get it out of him again but there is people out there who know how to do this or it may simply be dumb luck but i'ld like to find a conclusion;

So far I have tested all methods that were shown in theory as well as the so-called proven ones and found nothing; its been 4 weeks since this thread was made does anyone know how to do this yet?

Well I did some testing of recent methods and I actually found something which ensures the crash;

(I have tested this 3 times and so far works, EU servers)

1. Person 1 queues for a battleground ALONE
2. Person 1 enters the battleground
3. Person 1 /afk's out so he gets the deserter buff
4. Person 2 invites Person 1 into his group
5. Person 2 creates a raid
6. Person 2 puts Person 1 into a different raid group
7. Person 2 joins queue as a group
8. Person 2 promotes Person 1 to leader
9. Person 1 accepts the invite
10. Person 2 accepts the invite

Now, is where I got stuck; Person 1 cannot get into the battleground because he has the deserter buff but person 2 is inside and crashes.

The good thing is here; that if a battleground is starting, person 2 will get the preperation buff and he will disconnect, the problem is though that the server will take a while to reconise he got the disconnect and if the battleground game starts before it realises you have disconnected; it means the preperation buff will be wiped.

But prehaps what happens if the user is disconnected while he has the buff and he disconnects before the BG starts? will he be saved with preperation for when he comes on? Something to remeber is that preperation is not a timed buff, something has to trigger to remove it; such as when the battleground start timer = 0, preperation is removed.

Just some food for thought... i'll try some more testing later and hope something comes up.

Just tried this multiple times, didn't work on Stormstrike_US Battlegroup.

These buffs are about random, same thing when i had the AD buff for maybe for 2 weeks without the trinket, when i told once here and no-one believed me.
But i was actually able to reproduce it, but it happened randomly, what i did was enter the instance while unequipping the trinket same time, or disconnecting while unequipping when entering instance etc. When it happened, i of course tried it again, but did'nt work.

So i think it's happening because little server lag while ur disconnecting.

And btw, attempting to crash ur wow(i presume ur meaning the "wow error"), makes same effect than disconnecting ur internet.

But became in mind... Someone said in some thread about crashing server by joining BG while scanning auction. Became in mind, the server has to lag little while ur doing that. But while i wrote this, became in mind, that i think AH has it's own server, so not gonna work whatever i was thinking

Ok I tried this a couple times tonight got it to work 2 times out of 8 Here are the steps I took

1. Dual comped my warrior shammy
2. Had shaman join game and afk out
3. Invited shaman with warrior
4. Made a raid put shaman in group 2 warrior in 1
5. Group qued AB
6. Ab poped war got shaman didn't
7. Loaded packet sender program
8. Joined AB on warrior + sent small ammounts of packets.
9. dcd my internet via reset button on modem.
10. Loged back on with warrior to have prep buff 2/8 times
11. Shaman was dc'd every time with no prep buff.

I'm doing this right now... and my Deserter buddy gets the message "Cannot join because you have deserter" and nothing else.. .doesnt get DC'd... and i just join, and i dont get DC'd either... Wtf? someone point me to the right dirrection
