Simply relog inside the battleground and upon logging in you will be given the spec that you were when you queued. Particularly useful for healing class or tanking classes.

On my priest I queued as dps and was waiting for the queue as holy flying around dal etc.
When it popped I was shadow upon entering the BG, I quickly relogged and returned as holy again.
Tested 4 times and seems to be fine

Let me know if this has been posted, I had a look and didn't see anything.

There's actually a LOT more you can do with this, for example Death Knight Exploit Guide Wow Legion 7.3 - YouTube .

There's other stuff probably best kept under the radar, at least until we are near the new xpac.

Btw This only works with classes who have access to multiple roles, doesn't work for pure dps classes eg mages, warlocks.

Can I ask, what is the benefit to changing spec? Do you get different queue times or stats based on what you queue as?

It can help you get more healers into a BG, as the matchmaking tries to equalize healers. This is more for random BGs. You can easily get it to where the game will match-make 1 v 1 healers, then have 2 friends use this, all of a sudden you are 3 v 1 healers in a random BG.

You can queue heals or dps, Tank or dps and change to either spec after entering bg no matter what it sets your role is. Queue both as in check the tank and dps role. works same in skirmishes too.
