You can escape from enemy caster spells in the event you are attacked by someone (not something, they aggro you once they start casting) you recognize as having far superior gear (E.G. full merciless gladiator's raiment) using this simple exploit.
This might also be useful for escaping outdoor boss spellcasting, but I haven't made this so it can do that.
All you need is:
1. EPIC (has to be epic) Flying Mount
2. "Show Enemy Castbar" from interface section (so you can see what is being cast)
Optional: riding crop/crusader's aura/etc.
I know what you are thinking. I'm just going to say "run away when someone tries to gank you". Read on.
Basically, when you engage a mob, people will sometimes try to kill you while you kill that mob (pvp server, or if you're flagged on pve). Usually, after you are done killing 2 or 3 mobs, you need cooldown time to get full health and mana, and that is when people will start to attack. Lets say you have... oh... 1500 health once you're done with a mob. Along comes a warlock, who decides you're in his way, so he begins to cast soulfire (a 6 second cast spell) while his voidwalker takes out a mob he's farming. You see he's casting soulfire, so what do you do? Your mana is gone, your rage is gone, you used a pot, your friends are no where to be found. A few days ago, I was in this exact same position. I narrowly escaped doom by mounting my epic flying mount and flying away. It was not that I was out of range, for the warlock cast soulfire on me, but the the epic flying mount is faster than spell casts. Basically, I was flying faster than the spell, so it never caught up with me, and hence, I took no damage, and lived. The actual spell went off without a hitch, but I took no damage because I actually got away from the spell itself.
With a little practice, you too can prevent corpse runs.
