This is for hunters / lockz but may work with other classes:

1. logg your main inv some1 and say to them that they should inv your alt when u logg in on him.

2. DONT click Logout just Alt + f4 or Alt + Tab and logg in using other wow (so u have 2 running)

3. logg your alt and get inv kick the guy u inv be4.

4. Run in with your main and clear to the boss u
want an item from.

5.Alt + f4 (or Alt+ Tab and logg in using other wow) take your alt to the boss DONT attack

6. logg your main AGAIN... send pet. now "speedy" logout.

7.logg in on alt your mains pet should still be there and attacking the boss

8. kill the boss you should see him ass gray (attacked by some1 else but this time u will get xp and can loot)

Sounds like it might work. It's all about timing really. You want your alt still not d/c'ed yet when you send your pet, and you want your main still not d/c'ed yet until the kill.

u will not disapere directly when u get D/C so logg your main send pet > logg alt attack boss / mob

and yes u will get xp and loot

Your pet will still be there until your party aint in combat (not sure but atleast longer then u)

well than just like go up, whack the boss once on ur main and then go to ur alt.

may work but easier to send pet and then attack with alt cuz your main like gonna critt the shit out of the mob ^^

OldSmellyDude you cant loot a mob thats been killed while you were offline.
This does work since you can just do a random dot with your alt so that the boss has not been 100% killed by your mains pet.

Hmm.. This would be very useful if u need to do some quest with ur alt, clear insta with ur main, and go loot chests/quest thingies

Um..here is a way that actually works. Open 2 wow windows, with both of your characters in the same group, on the first window be logged in on your main and have the second one at the logon screen, attack the boss on your main and get him to ~1%. Quickly Alt+F4 and log on your alt on the other WoW window and finish off the boss. Done. And you don't have to be a huntard or lock either.

I thought this had been changed...

Not too long ago, my wife and I were running each other's alts through BRD, and we found that any character swapping done within the instance resulted in the alt winding up in a new, freshly-reset instance, which required running to the exit, being reinvited to the group, and then reentering to get into the instance that had already been cleared to the desired boss.

It's possible we were doing it wrong, I admit.
