Infinite invasion farming for Nethershards

Quick bug;

When doing the legion invasion events search in group finder for other raids doing the event you are currently on. Upon joining you will have your progress in your quest tracker updated to whatever the raid is currently on.



You can use this to hop between groups as soon as you get to the final phase and repeat phase 3 where you can go around killing the Elite bosses for Nethershards.

(You want to farm the skulls, each give 5-8 nethershards)

I have had it happen on a few occasions that upon leaving the group it will put me in a completely fresh invasion phase allowing me to repeat the process indefinitely.

Provided that there are lots of groups up and running you should be able to hop to your hearts content and farm as many shards as you want!

As a note, you will not get extra chest rewards.

you can do this by leaving whatever group you are in and relogging. if done so before killing the final invasion boss your invasion progress will reset. allowing you to do it all over again. removes the need for lfg

A good way to do this is to use the addOn Server Hop. Just join a new group as soon as you've done with a stage 3 on one phase.

I don't get this, so we just join invasion groups in the group finder tool? I already did hillbrad invasion, and doing more hillsbrad invasions don't seem to reward me anything once I complete phase 3

You guys have to tag the mini bosses in phase 3 in order to get the nethershards. You cannot just sit afk in the air.

So can we get to phase 4, log out as soon as boss spawns for 5 mins and log back in to start at phase 1 again?

In phase 2 and 3, the named elites drop nethershards if you tag them, so the idea is that you repeat phase 1-3 and tag as many as possible (and kill), get your drop shards, then leave group / log out to start over at phase 1. You wont get anything for completing a phase, killing the named elites is what the farm is about.

You'd have to do this on a character that is currently not locked to its 4hour lockout of invasions, so either wait until your main has new ones or go on a fresh alt.
As was said below, simply joining a LFG group will let you in another invasion even when locked, which allows tagging elites for shards.

No need. I finish the invasion on every char for chests then just join groups in LFG and farm phase 2-3. No need to relog or anything just tag the skulls.

Not working for me currently joining a new group is not phasing me in the invasion areas

If you complete an invasion entirely, will it not allow you to do stage 3 anymore? Or can you do a full invasion then spam stage 3's afterward

Yes you need to change group and get phased before finishing phase 4

This is wrong. I just confirmed that you CAN completely finish the invasion and get your chests,THEN join a group and still receive shards from the skull bosses on the map on phase 3.

However, you have to tag them and watch them die. You can not tag them and run away and you also can not die when the boss dies. You will only receive nethershards from the skull bosses on the map. No other boss will reward you with them (not even the demon lord at the end), so it's better to just join another group after all the skulls are dead. You can still kill the skulls even if the phase switches into phase 4 but if the demon lord is killed they will despawn.

i can also confirm you can do a whole invasion then skip realms and do another even if you finished all waves of the previous one
