I discovered this myself, so I am proud to share it.
This exploit will only be useful to people who are in guilds doing Serpentshrine Cavern. What this does is enables you to continuously attack Lurker without being knocked back by the whirl ability. This will seriously improve your dps because you do not have to spend time running back or jumping out of the water if you get whirled and then geysered in mid air. I am quite sure you still have to jump in the water during a spout, but i have not tried it to confirm. Anyways, here are some screenshots to show you exactly where to stand. The Lurker has already been killed in these screen shots, but you will get the idea.
Start by standing inside the circled area.
What you have to do is stand on the wood, and slowly inch your character forward by tapping "w" (or your forward key) until you hit the water and get the -500 scalding damage. As soon as u take the -500 tap "s" or backwards once quickly, and you should be in the right spot.
If you are in the correct spot, you will be in the water, but not taking the -500 scalding damage. Standing in this spot makes you immune to knockback, so it will not mess up your dps cycles.
As i mentioned before, make sure you still jump in the water during a spout. The spot might be safe from spouts, but I have not tested it.
