Personal ratings are similar to team ratings. When you join a team, your personal rating is set to 1500, as you win or lose, you gain or lose points just like team ratings. Where it's different is say you play 7 games and win 7 and your rating is 1700(personal and team), then your partner does 3 games with your other teammate and they lose all 3 games, your PERSONAL rating would still be 1700, because you didn't lose the games, therefore your personal rating remains the same even though your team rating went down.

If this is true, then you can "buy" a 1200 rating team and get it up and effectively powerlevel your personal rating.

i geuss you could but you cant hop between low rated teams, if i remember correctly if you leave an arena team your personal rating is reset.

this is a place for exploits, this is a possible exploit. nobody cares if you can get an 1850 rating.

Yes you can buy your way onto a high rating team for points -- and you probably have about a month to do so. 2.3 will fix this problem with each player having their own personal rating.

gratz for finding this yourself i already had this set up on my lock alt lol the team rating on him is 1029 or something im now saving up points on meh druid than going to join teh crappy team and get personal rating high aswell and buy meh shoulders and weapon

Actually the best way would be to make a new 2v2 as season 3 releases crash its rating down to 400 with two alts then level it up with your fresh mains who will be playing a 400 rated team at 1500 personal rating affectively raiseing personal rating by almost 100 each win until they pass 1000 rating

I think what he means is to buy into a high ranking team during the first week of season 3, thereby making your beginning personal rating high, and then not worrying about the system, not that he can pvp better than you and has 2500 rated teams.

However, I doubt this would work as you'd probably start off with a personal rating of 1500 regardless of the team you are in

I see what hes saying and it totally makes sense. If you want a team power leveled you start with one at 1000 and play with abunch of people up to 1700-1800. Most people should be able to do that then your personal rating for the team will be very high. The team plers come in and finish the job and the rating you had from before should still be enough to give you shoulders / gladiator.

anyways, good idea, that really should work if they don't do anything to prevent this.

If you get a 1200 rated team, you will gain maybe 1-2 personal rating per win, yours starting at 1500 of course. Personal rating gain/loss is based on the rating of the team that you are fighting. So you might be able to get an extra 50 or so, but nothing worth mentioning.
