Did not work for me today, has worked for me previously. I got the awakener and my ship in the yard disappeared. Full account of what happened in case it matters:
1) Awakener got destroyed
2) Decommissioned 3rd Sub
3) Create Carrier (would be my 2nd)
4) Used Rush order to create instantly
5) Went to buy Awakener
6) Purchased
7) Used Garrison hearth
8 ) Accidentally used Awakener early when at shipyard. Decommissioned it
9) Bought a new one, used Admiral's compass
10) Used & interact at same time (which has worked for me in the past)
11) Received Awakener, carrier that was in shipyard disappeared: no cutscene for creation of the new carrier, did not have the new carrier

I can confirm this still works. I had an alt whose Draenor Garrison I was leveling up.

Try disabling your addons. It could be a coincidence, but I failed 3 attempts, disabled all my addons, and then succeed on my first addon-free try.

Setup was no different: bind Awakener to one key, bind interact-with-mouseover to another, press both at same time.

I did it with a Battleship.

I realize this is a very old thread, but all these comments about this not working made me nervous. I figured anyone else attempting this would appreciate the necro.
