you have to use noodle wagon @ every spawn location

Yes, start with the Quest at the table in Orgrimmar, that takes you to Uldum and do the prequests.
It takes 1-2h.

I know that you can tag the mob temporarily before getting put back into zoned phase, but can you aoe him down and then re-enter and kill?

I don't see why it wouldn't. I don't have gametime to test it, but if its a phased zone similar to the CRZ exploit then it should work the same. Just use your AoE spells until you think it's dead and then use a cart to check.

NO, you won't see any mobs, even with noodlecart, I find it usefull only for mining and herbalism

Reviving this old Thread.

Still works in Cataclysm Classic.

1. You phase for 10 minutes exactly.
2. You are just in NPCless Uldum, the Nodes for Herbs and Ores are still the same in the normal World.
This means, you don't have your own Uldum World to farm endlessly, you will still compete with all the Bots and regular Players, that are not phased.
3. If you are a Druid, you can't fly to the Water Area (or even more Areas) with Druid Flightform. It will instantly remove the phasing.
But If you fly f.e. to the Water Spot in the Middle, then go in Druid Flightform, you will stay there phased for 10 minutes.

Not sure, how useful this is, since you still share Ore and Herb with other Players, you just don't see them.
You will notice this, because sometimes, you can not loot a Herb or a Ore and it will despawn.
Same with non phased World. If something despawns infront of your eyes, its not a bot underground, it's just a player in that Phased Quest.
