Avoiding account lock when logging in another account.

I wasn't sure if I should post this just because it can have illegitimate uses. I also apologize if it's been posted before.

To avoid an account being locked and requiring a reset when logging in from a different IP, all you need to do is log in to the battle.net site first.

    I guess steps are:

    1) Log in to battle.net under the account.
    2) That's it. I don't think you even have to click account management or whatever.

I often use friend's accounts and the like to powerlevel, so this saves me annoyance in having to get them to reset e-mails. I hesitated in posting this because I guess this is how hackers avoid your account being locked when they steal your shit...but oh well, hopefully this means they fix it.

The reason you can repeatedly log into your friends account, is because you've logged in once from that i.p, once you've reset the password once, you can log in whenever you like with no problems.

You may have to reset twice but normally not, so if it was hacker as you said, he'd try log in, it'd activate a reset, owner would do a reset thinking a password change would be safe, when in reality if they're keylogged or whatever, they've just give the hacker free roam of their account with the new password.

Same as with a boost service, one reset and its fine.

Last time I used another account besides my main account, I had to reset the password 3 times to log in.

Even with an authenticator, when I attempt to use my friends account to boost him, he has to reset the password so I can login.

I just use the Bnet app, as it only asks for the auth and not a password reset.

On accounts I've never logged in before, merely logging into battle.net from my IP made it so I could log on the accounts just fine. This isn't a case of logging into an account after a reset has been done.

Never had any issues yet and I'm using different vpn providers, my ip address/zone changes quite often. Guess they're checking more than the ip. Should work if you stay at the same computer.
