How to change the legal name in your battle.net account

Hi, I really wanted to change my name for a very long time and I finally did it. I know that it's frustrating to have the wrong name displayed in your Real ID list and all your friends see it. So I decided to help you guys. Here's how you do it.

1) Create an account with the same last & first name as the account
you want to transfer a toon from.

2) Call blizzard and give them a story on how you made an account
with a fake name but your buddy told you in order to retrieve an account
if it were ever to become stolen you have to have the same name as
addressed on your I.D

3) Blizzard will check your account to make sure it's in good
standing, this is when you want to get ready to make a transfer from
Account A to B, when blizzard asks what name do you want it changed to,
spell it out slowly for them.

4) Start the transfer once he says he is going to change the name,
make him repeat it so you can buy yourself sometime, you have a short
window here.

5) Once the name change is complete, check to see if your transfer
is pending, if it is then you've just got yourself a brand new account
with your full first and last name.

Be polite while talking to the Blizzard representative and do some smalltalk, it will make everything go easier.

Do you think it works this way:

You create a new account with the same first & last name as the old account.
You transfer all your characters to this new account and then you call Blizzard's billing service, you have the initial cd key now, and want to change the name of this new account?

i have made several trial accounts too test if you can send, the only thing i have came up with is, if you create a new account first name is the same as the account you plain in sending it too(yours) and the surname is the account with all the chars that you wish too send.(you can now send the chars too this account) but the end game is, your gona have too upgrade it too cata, then try and ring blizzard up and say you made a mistake with your surname when creating the account so you can send it too your real account.

but im thinking can you do this, create a new battle.net account with the same surname as the bought wow account, and the first name yours. now instead of upgrading it too cata, go buy a a merge account on this site. :P what will happen when you ring blizzard up too ask too rename it, will they check the merged account key.

dude any chance you can help me with this, if you did it already, im going nuts with blizzard, i even rang them up too say i was 1 of the victims that had there account renamed with the exploit a few months ago, but they looked far into the account and seen it was never changed.

If you want to transfer a say 85 character than you must have cata. Maybe you can tranfser lvl 60 characters to a classic account and 70 to bc and so on, not sure about that.

Well just do the exploit, saying you are a victim, if they have logs that actually prove otherwise wont help you, it actually might get u banned.

yea i rang them up already explained too a customer support about the exploit, she didnt know anything about it which is good. i made a ticket before this. my gm chat

Hello, my account got hacked a while back but im only noticing now my name has been changed? i did some research into this and it was a reported bug and alot of people lost there accounts from it. i already contacted staff and had it restored a while back as you can see. i dont normally log into the battle.net website so never noticed. i have all my info too prove, got my cd keys, secret password. but my name has changed.

(why would he ask for my photo id and the name i wanted on the account, ? yes i changed the shipping address too my real name a few weeks before too build it up.) so i uploaded my real id and the new account name, but the phone support was so retarded. im gona wait the ticket out. if it doesnt work, i was thing of making a new middle account in the bought accounts surname, my real first name. but i would hate too upgrade it then fail on surname change.

Do as stated in my initial post. new acc with same name as fake name acc, call and change name, initiate transfer to new acc from old acc - > new account with your real name and your character from old acc
