Earn the FoS 'Clockwork Rocket Bot' without playing wow 4years ago

Today at 6a.m. the winterveil feast has started.

The event has been updated a lil bit and we have some new quests.

One of them is You're a Mean Onewhich starts in IF or OG.

The reward for the quest is Stolen Present

The bag can drop a Clockwork Rocket Bot which rewards you with the Feat of Strength

some how i dont think getting a FoS from 2007 is working as intended. they probably intend the bot to drop, but dont intend the achieve to be awarded for it.

I got this on my rogue, did the quest on 6 other characters and got nothing but wind up toys

checked wowhead afterwards and it seems a lot of people also got it

no idea how this is any sort of exploit since its random from a daily present you'll be doing anyway 'do the quest and cross your fingers?'

It is possible the drop is intended but the 2007 achievement was not intended. I haven't seen anything on blizzard forum that suggest this is working or not.

Can anyone confirm this achievement is popping for people getting this pet? Is the pet really dropping again this year??

I would be upset to learn that the pet is dropping again, AND people are getting the FOS for it.

(come to think of it, I'd be more upset about them getting the pet... I don't care much about them getting a FOS... but I like my exclusive pet!).

yes, i got it today, i did it on my achievement charcter and got nothing

decided to do it on my rogue as i was going up there ganking anyway, opened the present and was suprised with a fos and the pet.

Just means you now own the rocket bot from 2007, it doesn't say any thing about having to log in 4 years ago.
IRL I drive a Peugeot 106 from 1996, doesn't mean I bought it 15 years ago.

No. the whole concept behind FoS is achievements that are either one per server (realm first stuff) or achievements you cant get anymore, or achievements that are retardedly hard to get (the rarespawn mounts / etc)

getting the bot is probably working as intended.

getting the FoS for 2007 is probably NOT intended.

re-read the achievement, the FoS is for simply for looting the pet, not for the year you got it.
The 2007 part is just the year the pet was first revealed.

And yeah a FoS is a FoS because they are impossible to obtain, or are very hard at the least, now this FoS only comes around once a year and isn't even guaranteed, so that would be why it's still a FoS.

Same fcking Blizztard laziness which they showed when they used the same Brewfest stein for 2 years, every year giving the same original FoS...
Because it's so fcking hard to change the color of the stein/pet...

Except insane achievement....or Rivendales' mount....infact...there are lots that are FOS, not special AND still gettable.
