Money loop with Mystery Meat/Carrion Surprise

I did a search for both Mystery Meat and Carrion Surprise and found nothing so I don't know whether this is something people know or not but here goes.
I was leveling my cooking and found an infinite money loop because I could buy mystery meat at 2s 98c a piece and vendor the Carrion surprise made from 1x meat for 3s. I do realize that 2c per food made is not a huge amount of money, but I'm only friendly with the Hand of Vengeance (Faction of the NPC you buy the meat from) so I figured that a goblin, or someone exalted with them who has a chef's hat could pull off a much bigger income than that, and maybe with a bot running automate a money making process. Think about it. Here's a screenie to show you it isn't hogwash.

I think when you sell a crafted item you will always sell it for more money...

And you will get more money when killing a mob...

    1 Gold = 100 Silver
    1 Silver = 100 Copper
Therefore, 1 Gold equals 10000 Copper and 1 Copper equals 0,0001 Gold.

Assuming you can get as much as 30% (!) off, the reagent will cost you 2s09c, allowing for a 91c profit.
For a bot, I guess it'd take about 1.5 seconds to buy, craft and sell once; that's about 61c per second or 0,0061g per second.

    That's a bit of a disappointment
plot y=0.0061x where x is between 0 and 36000 - Wolfram|Alpha(Xmax = 36000 aka 10 hours, amount of gold made is on the Y axis)

Wow, that is disappointing to see, not even remotely viable then.

It is an interesting oversight but I did do a little testing on this with a chefs hat. Starting money was 386g 83s 29c. It took 6 minutes to buy, make and sell 22 stacks of the Carrion Surprise. After selling I was at 387g 71s 29c. This is a total of 88s for 6 minutes worth (this could possibly be faster if you have a bot buying a full stack of 20 in one go). That equals out to 5g 28s per hour. This is also on a toon with exalted rep with them. It costed 2s 80c to purchase each Mystery Meat at exalted rep.

Edit: As a side note it took a full 5 minutes on a good connection to craft all 22 stacks. So, even if you have a bot that will buy the meat in full stacks, this is seriously not worth the effort.

Can you try it with the chef hat to see if its faster?

Great find no matter the case of not being fast gold or not.

Could always buy them cheap and AH them. Not everybody knows you can just buy them. It's server dependent though, but on mine a 20 stack sells for about 18g.

Unfortunately, grinding mobs with a bot will always be faster.

U dont need bots nor addons to buy shit fast.....

here's the macro to buy 5 stacks(100) in 1 click:
/script local function buy (n,q) for i=1,100 do if n==GetMerchantItemInfo(i) then BuyMerchantItem(i,q) end end end buy ("Mystery Meat",20) buy ("Mystery Meat",20) buy ("Mystery Meat",20) buy ("Mystery Meat",20) buy ("Mystery Meat",20)

Last time ive checked, Cheif's Hat reduces the cast time of any cooking recipe to 0.5 seconds...

So 91c per 0.5 sec if u dont count the time wasted on clicking 10 times to fill ur bags...that's 1.82s per sec, 1g 09s 20c per min, 65g 52s per hour.

Unless ive done some calculs wrong (xecpt for not including the time wasted on buying the meat), u can do up to 1572.48g if u run a bot with this for 24h, pretty good imo.

And btw, if you wana fill ur whole bags with ONE click, there's addons that let u make macros longer and u can just add more of these "buy ("Mystery Meat",20)" in the macro....just so u dont have to concider the time wasted on buying it :P

One last thing, i dunno if the 91c was calculed with with the bartering perk from a lvl 24 guild....imagine u get an extra 10% reduction...

It is pretty slow as a gold making method and if it's not working as intended it might be investigated by Blizzard as we speak so I advise you to lay low a couple of days and if it's still working, you can abuse it (if you can't bot or anything). However, very nice find, congrats & +rep!
