I was able to get out of AB doing this somewhat recently, and made a video of it. Arathi Basin early start with Darkmoon Tiger - WoW Glitch patch 4.3.3 - YouTube

People were reporting it fixed that very night though, and when I tried again I was teleported back to the starting point. So currently I think this just gives you a few steps head start.
