Huge AoE buff for 2 minutes as a mage.

First post and i regged today, yeah. Just been reading around and i though it was time to not leech anymore.

Searched around for this and could'nt find it so here we go.

If you are a mage, and want some extra dps for a boss fight for 2 minutes. This is the way to go:

1.Get to Isle of Quel'Danas
2.Find one of those Infernals named Abyssal Flamewalker, they have an magic buff that is Spellstealable/Dispellable called Immolation.
3. Spellsteal it and kill the Infernal.
4. Now you will have an buff for 2 minutes (spellsteal limit-duration)
5. For me, as fire specced and with 6700 spellpower (with Int buff) this HIT all the targets around me for 8100 fire damage and crits around 16-17k from time to time.

I assume this buff benefit ALOT from your spellpower and i doubt this is intended as you can join BG's and such with it (just bit tricky to either get into one already started since the buff duration will diminish otherwise).

Sorry to break it but spellsteal anything and then get summoned to boss, there is like 700 threads about it. Also it's not exploiting.

While the general idea is common I couldn't find anything about this specific mob, so in my mind and probably most other people this is new and possible useful


Spell steal + warlock summon + volcanic potion (1200 int) and initial pull and lust on H halfus sounds like win to me. If possible. Otherwise the BG part is funny.

Probably not an exploit, but it is very useful. I doubt that Blizzard intended for this mob's ability to scale so well into Cata. Probably just an oversight on their part and will be removed in a future patch now that it is known (look at Metanoia for an example).
