Full exp with someone running you

Grouping causes a loss of experience.
Monster taking damage from more than one player causes a loss of experience.

Receiving heals does not cause a loss of experience.
Killing a feared monster does not cause a loss of experience.

The damage theory I've actually noticed is completely FALSE.

Recently within a computer-lab me and some others were playing WoW and lvling toons, with me being the highest level. I took the opportunity to test a few things out, and here were my results;

You can just as easily test this out yourself, as it works best with somebody having an add-on that tells you your targets' target. I tested this and made sure that the experience gain was the nearly the same, give or take the usual 5-10 xp points that fluctuates.

1) Get lowbie toon...
2) Get not-so-lowbie toon, possibly five or ten levels higher, or just a fully lvled toon with some not-so-lowbie spells.
4) Don't group up (adurhur)
3) Get lowbie to smack mob in the face (and hard to make sure the mob doesn't feel like facing any other direction anytime soon)
4) DoT or smack the mob lightly, causing just enough damage that it won't target the not-so-lowbie toon and add to mobs' aggro list
5) Mob dies easy, lowbie-toon gets full experience.

Succeeded with a lvl 22 shaman killing kodo's in The Barrnes with a lvl 27 warlock & lvled Corruption & 23.1dps wand.


As far as I've noticed, so long as the higher-lvl isn't added to the aggro-list of the creature being killed, then the lowbie will get FULL experience for killing that creature. I haven't tried it so that when the mob dies the lowbie is then targeted again by the mob, however, this just shows that the original posters' idea isn't complete horse crap.

One could also try powerful spells that knock the mob out completely after one hit, and after the lowbie has knocked it in the head a few times. Though the latter is greatly more questionable and probably much less likely to work.

Excuse me for being, somewhat, old fashioned. But if you want to play a game then shouldn't you simply play it as opposed to getting someone else to do the work. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping people out but a lot of the fun off the game comes from rising the levels. with every character I have ever played I worked hard to get everything they have. It's far more satisfying!

It works. I'm warlock, when i helped a friend i dot 4-5 mobs and i ran out the instance before they die then my friend took all xp. The low level must resist while the warlock is gone, it's the only difficulty. It's an awesome tip! I read this tip from this forum one month ago! Test yourself if you don't believe me. Sorry for english.
