Free name change with realm transfer

I did a search for it.. didn't find.

i recently transferred servers with a toon. blizz states that if a character with your name already exists on the destination server, that you will be prompted to rename your toon upon transfer. i simply made a toon on the new server with an identical name to the toon to be transferred.

It worked, and it was a nice perk for the 25 buck fee.

Also, this isn't an exploit at all and you say that in your original post.

/sigh. a nigga tries to contribute and this is what you get. i shouldve expected no less. i searched for name change and all that came up was some bullshit about using 100 bg marks and the mailbox to glitch it.

i felt that it was an exploit because it was a way to take advantage of the current system, getting something that is supposed to cost money for free.

Had you only put "free" in first in your search, you wouldn`t have made a fool out of yourself Seriously, even though it is a repost, thx for trying to share. And i actually agree with you in that this kinda is an exploit, i doubt it was blizz intention that people could just make a new char on a new server to help people avoid paying for a name change.
