Well as you know if you kill the first boss in a heroic you get saved (doh). So this will allow you to kill the first boss without being saved,

Pro's of this exploit:
You can hilt farm the instance while getting some emblems also.
Thats pretty much the only use, please tell me if you find more

Con's of this exploit:
Can't recieve loot from the boss.
Also pretty much all i can think off

How to do it:
Step 1:Farm PoS or w/e till you get to the first boss, then when the boss is gonna die you just leave the group, you'll be kicked from instance and go to where you were. Then you will recieve the emblem if they kill the monster

Step 2:?????

Step 3:Repeat till lovely hilt drops, or w/e else is useful for

Step 4:Profit

Well using the method above, i would think that if your doing your daily and your on the last boss and you leave when it's about to die, not only would you get frost badges but it will also count it as you not having done the daily.

I cant test this out because i've done the daily on all my toons so if someone can please test this out it would be awesome

apart from the fact that the theory is bs ppl are already way behind the point of "leaving party" and onto using disconnect macros and such and that doesn't even work, trust me it's not going to work.

The disconnect macro, kicks you out of the game thus not allowing you to recieve badges, and how does this not work if i done it alot today trying to farm the hilt. Please gtfo

If you miss the kill from the boss, you get it in your mailbox.

1.you don't get the deserter buff dunno why bit you don't
2.don't think blizzard wants you to kill heroic bosses and get emblems wigtout being saved

and don't get the item because it doesn't give you the option to roll

To get frost badges you have to complete a 'quest' so to speak. It's not really a quest but at the same time it works like one. Once you complete the instance you complete the said quest so you can't do it again for another day (the quest acts like a daily).

I don't think your frost emblem exploit will work. However the free emblem one might.

If you leave an instance while a boss fight is active you will get saved to it if the boss dies, no matter what you do. You can try the disconnect macro, turning off your computer, pressing alt+f4 or even hearth to silithus. It does not make any difference. If you were involved in the fight and the boss dies you are screwed. There is no way to prevent this.

The frost emblem mission is to kill the last boss.. so leaving after first boss fails brutally : P

@zacred: No he is telling you to leave right before the last boss is dead, so the failure is yours because u can't even read ffs.
Tho on the same note i think the "quest" will auto complete and work the same way as the save method(aka won't work, tho i can't test frozen account is frozen).

Ok, my brother and I have been doing this for a while now. It does work, however the OP has left out a key step.

LeetSpeak is right about the frost badge daily. That part doesn't work. You'll get the triumph emblem and stone keeper shards, but you won't complete the 'quest' for the frost badges. You actually have to be present for the kill for those.

Martin240 is also right, doing this does get you saved. Here comes the important part: In order to not get saved, you need to re-queue before the group you ditched kills the boss.

So here's the breakdown:
1. Queue specifically for FoS
2. Clear trash to the boss and hope for a hilt.
3. Engage and fight the boss.
4. Get the boss down to a point where you feel comfortable that the group will finish it off without you, but not so low that they'll kill it before you get a chance to re-queue. Take load times into account here. 25% usually works out fine.
5. Drop group
6. After you load back into wherever you were, immediately re-queue for FoS. You will not have the ditcher's debuff.
7. Within about 30 secs you'll either get a system message that says your saved and got a badge/keeper shards OR you'll suddenly have mail that contains the badge/keepers shards.
8. You are not actually saved, and are in the queue to go again.
9. Repeat

^------Yes but after step 6 it's not really useful, because when you leave at about 7% it takes you around 1-3seconds to down 7% so just leave and you get the shards/badges,

If you care to explain im not really sure what queing up after leaving does, cause for me i just leave get badges/shards then after i get it i reque

With this method before i got bored (around 9 trips) i've seen 6 hilt drop with my luck havnt won one yet -_-.

Shame that the frost one doesn't work, i assumed you get it as a token of killing last boss and not having to be present


Oh and martin before you try to act all smart saying something can't be done because it's impossible how about you actually give it a chance and see it does actually work

You re-queue because it's buggy. Sometimes you will get saved. Re-queueing prevents that. And yes, this is a very boring thing to do, and triumph badges are easier to get legitly so there's not much point to it.

tricks is to queue up for PoS only, deserter debuff pops only if ur in random queue.
