[Exploit] Attack Vectus without having the quest

Hi.

As I powerleveled some alts through Scholomance I noticed a nice bug. While I was standing next to Vectus I was effected by his aoe aura. So I pressed my Fan of Knives button and 2 seconds later the whole chamber was coming for me. Usually this mob is not attackable if you are not on the quest. You need a special quest item to make the mobs and him killable.

I made a video how it works. Fan of knives is definitely working but I think every other aoe should work.

Now how can we take profit of this?

1. If you are powerleveling someone here, this will be a bunch of extra exp. Really nice, as you can get your friend in here when he is level 45 and he can stand on the bridge at the beginning of the instance and will get all these precious experience points.

2. If you are grinding reputation for Argent Dawn you will get 2 extra Corruptor's Scourgestones:
Corruptor's Scourgestone - Item - World of Warcraft
This is an extra 300 reputation per run which means 25% more reputation than a normal run which grants 1200 according to wowwiki.

I hope you can take some profit of this

I've killed him without the quest a few times, but those two bosses' loot tables aren't really worth it imo. Are you saying that if you aoe you can avoid clearing the room? Or do all the students aggro when you attack the teachers?

I could not attack him directly while the students were alive. I had to cast some kind of ae to get his attention.
If you use this methode, the whole room is coming for you. That's the point of the power leveling thing

sorry to break it to you, but you misunderstood.
he's always attackable, wether you're on the quest or not.
the thing is, you can't rightclick to attack him cause he has a dialogue, however, pressing T (default attack bind) will attack him and aggro the room, same goes for using any other damaging ability.
...this is working as intended...

Well you can attack them. You just can't right click to melee them but if ur on melee ranged and use something like plague strike it will hit it.

didn't knew that either! Tried it out yesterday and pulled some quite nice xp/hr rates :-)
